<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">The good folks over at <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/news=211806/5-3-ptr-build-16790-spell-changes-3d-pegasus-mount-models-and-more" style="outline: none; text-decoration: none;">Wowhead</a> have been very busy indeed <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/news=211806/5-3-ptr-build-16790-spell-changes-3d-pegasus-mount-models-and-more" style="outline: none; text-decoration: none;">datamining away</a> in the recent patch 5.3 PTR update, and discovered two new mounts, as yet un-named. They're referring to them as "Pegasus" mounts, likely because they're flying horses, makes sense after all.<br style="line-height: 0.5em;" /><br style="line-height: 0.5em;" />Given that we know very little about them, apart from what they look like, it stands to reason that we also don't know quite where they come from. It should be noted, though that they're in the two colors that neatly align with those of the game's factions. Perhaps a clue?<br style="line-height: 0.5em;" /><br style="line-height: 0.5em;" />This suggests that the mount is faction-specific, so, again purely speculating, this might indicate one of several sources. Faction-specific mounts could come from the battle.net store, where buying one item nets you two, such as existing pets. Or, it could be another, similar reward, such as the Spectral Gryphon or Spectral Wind Rider awarded for a successful Scroll of Resurrection. Failing that, and looking a little more on the bright side, it could be a reputation reward available in recolors for both factions.</span></span></div>

<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">The first wing of Throne of Thunder Raid Finder has opened this week, so it's time to slay a few bosses. Maybe you're ready to queue up right this second. In fact, with the staggered release schedule, you're probably very ready. No time to read through our full guides, or need a short explanation ready for other players? Here's a quick reference perfect for copy and pasting into chat, because we love you.</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">Jin'rokh the Breaker</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">Tanks have a swap, watch out for the Static Wound debuff and be ready to taunt. Everyone else stand in the pools unless they're electrified, step out and stack near the boss during Lightning Storm. If you're targeted by the Focused Lightning, run away, and don't electrify the pools.</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">Horridon</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">One tank on the boss, the other on adds -- switch after each door so Triple Puncture doesn't stack too high. The adds cast debuffs, so healers be ready to dispel. Stay away from Horridon's head and tail. Kill Dinomancer adds first and stay out of stuff on the ground. Click the Orb of Command when it appears. After the door phase, War-God Jalak will spawn. Off-tank and burn him, continue on the boss.</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">Council of Elders</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">Tanks focus on swapping Frost King Malakk before reaching 15 stacks of Frigid Assault. Prioritize killing adds: Loa Spirits and Living Sands. If there are no adds, DPS the empowered boss -- it'll be big and purple. Priestess: interrupt Wrath of the Loa, kill spirits. Frost King: stack on the player with Frostbite. Kazra'jin: avoid charges, use damage-reduction cooldowns on Overload. Sul: interrupt Sand Bolt, kill adds, don't stand in Quicksand.</span></span><br />

<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">The new Thunderforged loot designation -- much like the affix Raid Finder -- was introduced into Patch 5.2 for a number of reasons by Blizzard. While the affix does stay certain pieces from disenchantable execution on farm bosses, players largely regarded Thunderforged items as another attempt to help 25-man raiding guilds stay afloat. The developers didn't want to go back to late Wrath of the Lich King model of completely higher loot in 25mans, so instead Thunderforged items can drop in both sized raids. However, the drop rate in 25-mans would be higher than that of 10-mans.</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">"How frequent is more frequent?" players would ask, especially when given the chance to chat with the developers about patch 5.2. Ghostcrawler deflected the question on TotemSpot's interview, preferring to let players figure out the drop rates themselves.</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">Fortunately for us, WoWProgress has analyzed the loot drops using its database of characters, guilds, and bosses killed this first week of Patch 5.2. Looking at loot gains from Jin'rokh the Breaker, specifically:</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">11.7% of the 10-man loot equipped by characters was Thunderforged</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">25.7% of the 25-man loot equipped by characters was Thunderforged</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">Even figuring in disenchanted items, WoWProgress figures the drop rates to be approximately 10% for 10-man and 25% for 25-man. From personal anecdote, my 25-man raiding guild saw usually one but sometimes two Thunderforged drops per boss in addition to four to five regular mode drops. Tier pieces, of course, will never drop as Thunderforged.</span></span><br />

<div style="border: 0px; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 24px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;">There’s a storm brewing on Thunder Isle in the form of the newly risen Thunder King: <a href="http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/blog/7160945/Know_Thy_Enemy_Portrait_of_a_Thunder_King-20_02_2013" style="outline: none; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">Lei Shen</a> and the invading Zandalari forces who support his bid to regain his seat of power over Pandaria. Once more the heroes of the Horde and Alliance are being called forth to take on this threat, but they do so in the midst of their own dark and bloody war reignited by the decimation of Theramore and the betrayal that split the Kirin Tor. Waging war on two fronts isn’t easy and the Shado Pan have no interest in anything more than using the power of both factions to put down a more clear and present danger.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 24px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;">With the release of patch 5.2: The Throne of Thunder, a new island will open up off the coast of Townlong Steppes and add a bounty of new daily quests, rare spawns, summonable bosses, hidden treasures, and more.. Taking part in these daily quests will lead up to an epic showdown between the last emperor of the mogu, Lei Shen, the Zandalari, and those who would stop them – the Shado-pan and the heroes of Azeroth.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 24px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
</div>
<h2 style="border: 0px; font-size: 13px; margin: 20px 0px 10px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-shadow: rgb(205, 144, 0) 0px 0px 5px;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;">Where do we go from Here?</span></h2>
<div style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;">First things first, how do you get to the island to begin with? At level 90, players will get their first quest in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms where they’ll automatically get the quest “Thunder Calls” or you can go directly to the Shado-Pan Garrison in Townlong Steppes to get started. From there you’re on your way. This isn’t a walk in the park and while flying seems like the easiest way to get where you need to, these are definitely not friendly skies. Flying won’t be available on the island as much as the invading forces would like it to be. A portal between the Shado-pan Garrison and the Alliance or Horde quest hubs will be available after your initial flight to the island so that you can get back into the action quickly.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;">Similar to the War Effort with Ahn’Qiraj or the Isle of <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/zone=4080/isle-of-queldanas" style="outline: none; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">Quel’Danas</a>, the effort of the overall realm population’s participation and activity will affect the progression toward unlocking the various stages of the Isle of Thunder as you and your allies push further into the island. You’ll be able to contribute by taking part in the daily quests that are made available at various points of interest on the island. Once established on the beach head, you’ll also have a choice between PvE or PvP oriented quests. (<em style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">Warning, choosing the PvP option will flag you for PvP automatically</em>.) Each will provide slightly different rewards and faction with your chosen allies. If you’ve missed unlocking a section of the island, don’t panic. You’ll still be able to experience the story by taking part in the solo Scenarios that will be available as you progress through the island.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
</div>
<h2 style="border: 0px; font-size: 13px; margin: 20px 0px 10px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; text-shadow: rgb(205, 144, 0) 0px 0px 5px;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;">Who’s the Boss?</span></h2>
<div style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;"> The Horde and the Alliance will be working for some familiar faces as they make their way through the island. Each faction's finest are spearheading the assault: the Kirin-Tor Offensive led by Jaina Proudmoore and the Sunreaver Onslaught led by Lor'themar Theron. Earning reputation with these new factions offers heroes the opportunity to gain new tabards, banners and an intimidating new mount.</span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
</div>
<div style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;">The island isn’t just about unlocking new quests and earning some reputation. There is also plunder to be had and foes to be vanquished.</span></div>
<ul style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 1em;">
<li style="border: 0px; list-style: disc; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;"><strong style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">Summonable Bosses</strong>: On occasion, you may come across an item that will allow you to summon a five-player boss for an extra challenge and some loot. <a href="http://ptr.wowhead.com/item=94221/shanze-ritual-stone" style="outline: none; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">Shan’ze Ritual Stones</a> can be gained from a variety of sources on the island and when combined to summon one of these bosses.</span></li>
<li style="border: 0px; list-style: disc; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;"><strong style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">Rare Chests: </strong>You may just come across a rare chest that can be looted once a week which can also provide Shan’ze Ritual Stones. These stones can be combined to bring forth a summonable boss.</span></li>
<li style="border: 0px; list-style: disc; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;"><strong style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">Rare Spawn Bosses</strong>: You’ll be able to meet new and interesting rare bosses and (attempt) to kill them. Like the Rare Chests, these have a chance to provide a Shan’ze Ritual Stone as well as other great rewards.</span></li>
<li style="border: 0px; list-style: disc; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;"><strong style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">Troves of the Thunder King- Treasure Room</strong>: Who doesn’t love free loot? You’ll have an opportunity to get your hands on a key that will let you put your speed looting to the test. With five minutes on the clock, you’ll be able to dive into one of the infamous mogu treasure vaults and raid Lei Shen’s treasure. There are obstacles along the way that may slow you down, but if you plan well, you just may pad your own treasure stores a bit more with some amazing new items from the chests toward the end of the treasure room</span></li>
<li style="border: 0px; list-style: disc; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;"><strong style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><a href="http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/game/patch-notes/under-dev/5-2/nalak" style="outline: none; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">Nalak the Storm Lord</a></strong>: Once the Isle of Thunder has been conquered, the gate guardian of the Thunder King’s citadel will appear. This new world boss is similar to the Sha of Anger and offers the opportunity for the strong of heart to defeat him and gain fabulous new loot.</span></li>
<li style="border: 0px; list-style: disc; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;"><strong style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">Transmogrification Items</strong>: If you’ve been looking for a classic look for your weapons this could be your opportunity. Zandalari may occassionally drop green items that have the same visuals as classic troll weapons from the past.</span></li>
<li style="border: 0px; list-style: disc; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;"><strong style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">New Lorewalker Scrolls</strong>: You’ll be able to discover new Lorewalker scrolls and hear these tales from Lorewalker Cho.</span></li>
<li style="border: 0px; list-style: disc; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="background-color: black; color: #e69138;"><strong style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">The Isle of Giants</strong>: The Isle of Giants isn’t a place you can just stroll into, but for those who fear nothing, it may be an opportunity to discover new creatures and potentially, tame or capture them. Mist shrouded and dangerous this island is home of the new world boss, <a href="http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/game/patch-notes/under-dev/5-2/oondasta" style="outline: none; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">Oondasta</a>, a fearsome Devilsaur of epic proportions.</span></li>

Blizzard has announced the end of Season 12 for both Arena PvP and Rated Battlegrounds. The season will officially end on Tuesday, March 5, at which point the process of determining which players are eligible for end-of-season rewards will begin. Until rewards are handed out, those that feel they are eligible for titles or mounts should avoid transferring their characters until after the season ends, just to avoid any problems with handing out the goodies.</span><br style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 0.5em;" /><br style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 0.5em;" /><span style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;">While players will be able to keep their Valor in patch 5.2, Conquest points will still be converted to Honor points. Keep in mind however that all Season 12 gear will be able to be purchased with Honor points at that time -- while 5.0 and 5.1 Valor gear will still cost Valor. Also note that any items with a rating requirement attached will no longer be available for purchase after the Season's end, so be sure to pick up any gear you're missing before March 5.</span></span></span>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01697190870952997585noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2627117270579230411.post-66948770234157990562013-02-18T08:41:00.003-08:002013-02-18T08:44:16.201-08:00Patch 5.2 targeted for release in last week of February<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;">In a recent post from a Blizz GM,he mentioned <span style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;"> </span><span style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;">that while Blizzard in general doesn't want to give out patch release dates ahead of time, they are targeting patch 5.2 for release the last week of February.</span></span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: black;"><span style="color: #e69138;"><span style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;">Keep in mind that things can and do change. Patches </span><em style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;">have been</em><span style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;"> delayed before due to unforeseen bugs or game mechanics issues, and they </span><em style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;">will be</em><span style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;"> delayed again. It's common and part of life in a game like </span><em style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;">WoW </em><span style="font-family: 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;">that's constantly under development.</span></span></span><br />

<div style="background-color: #1a0f08; border: 0px; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 24px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
<span style="color: #e69138;">If you’re already wearing Malevolent Gladiator’s gear in patch 5.1, then you could be faced with a choice. In patch 5.2, the Item Upgrade vendors will no longer be active. A new set of non-upgradeable Malevolent Gladiator’s gear is being introduced in patch 5.2, though it is a higher item level and has boosted PvP Power and Resilience to compensate.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: #1a0f08; border: 0px; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 24px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em; outline: 0px; padding: 6px 0px;">
<span style="color: #e69138;">So, if you have the points to buy gear, do you buy a current Malevolent piece now, do you upgrade an existing piece before patch 5.2 arrives, or save points to buy new pieces once patch 5.2 arrives? Keep in mind that a fully upgraded (2/2) piece of 5.1 Malevolent Gladiator’s gear will be slightly better than its 5.2 counterpart, so if you already own pieces that you haven’t fully upgraded yet, then going for full upgrades might be a good course of action. On the other hand, even a piece that isn’t fully upgraded will be about as good as one of the brand new pieces in patch 5.2. Since any Conquest Points you have when patch 5.2 arrives will be turned into Honor that can be used to buy Malevolent pieces when the patch arrives, it’s up to you to decide how you want to spend those points.</span></div>

Well, 5.2 is well on its way and it’s bringing PvE features like a brand new questing hub and a huge new raid, but it’s also introducing new features that will have a significant impact on the PvP aspects of World of Warcraft, including a number of class and gearing changes.</span><br />
<span style="color: #e69138;"><br /></span>
<ul style="background-color: #1a0f08; border: 0px; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 24px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 1em;">
<li style="border: 0px; list-style: disc; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="color: #e69138;">Rating requirements will be removed from PvP gear.</span></li>
<li style="border: 0px; list-style: disc; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="color: #e69138;">Malevolent Gladiator’s gear, will be available for purchase with Honor Points.</span></li>
<li style="border: 0px; list-style: disc; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="color: #e69138;">A new tier of Conquest Point gear will be added that becomes available once 27000 Conquest Points have been earned for the season.</span></li>
<li style="border: 0px; list-style: disc; margin: 0px 0px 0px 1em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="color: #e69138;">Team Rating will gradually increase during the season for teams and players who continue to compete in PvP</span></li>
